Our priorities in the war against public schools.

Issues

Every child deserves a quality education that prepares them for a bright future. Public schools must serve the community’s special needs children and gifted students.

Our teachers deserve a supportive work environment and a fair living wage. By standing together and advocating for quality public education, we can create a brighter future for our children and our communities. Through our collective passion and community engagement, we defend, strengthen, and revitalize public education for the benefit of all.

  • Sometimes, school choice is a very difficult choice. We actively engage with parents, teachers and community members to help them understand the process of selecting the right school. We work to foster confidence in our public schools and strengthen the connection between schools and their surrounding neighborhoods.

  • Florida is the fourth wealthiest state and yet we rank 50th in teacher pay. We advocate for adequate and sustainable funding for our teachers at the local, state, and national levels. We engage with policymakers, participate in budget discussions, and rally our community to prioritize teacher pay as a fundamental investment in our future. MORE

  • We actively demand accountability from state and local education officials to create schools that meet the needs of all children, including those with special needs, and those that are gifted. We believe in the power of creativity and forward-thinking to improve our schools, making them adaptable and safe to the ever-changing needs of our students.

  • We believe that every child, regardless of their background, deserves an equal opportunity to receive a world-class education. We work to eliminate disparities in educational outcomes and ensure that resources are distributed fairly among all schools.

  • Florida legislators aren’t playing by the rules. The Sunshine laws prevent the misuse of funds. Today it’s almost impossible for the public and even the Sarasota County administrators to follow the money and create sustainable budgets. MORE

  • We are committed to the long-term sustainability of free public education. Our efforts are not bound by short-term fixes but are guided by a vision of an education system that provides opportunities for generations to come.
