Why SOS?
Historically, “SOS” is a distress signal sent out in a moment of crisis. And that’s precisely where we are today! Legislators at every level of government are working to defund and dismantle public education.
In the world’s most prosperous nation, access to quality education is becoming a choice between a public school with poorly paid teachers, homeschooling, or a voucher-funded private school without any regulatory oversight, making school choice… a hard choice.
SOS members are dedicated volunteers who are staunch defenders of quality public education. We research, write, publish, and speak out at every School Board meeting. Our community engagement programs inform our community about important issues affecting our schools.
Join us in building a brighter future for all the children in Sarasota County. We all share a common goal - to provide the best possible education for our children. And here's an opportunity for us to come together and make a real difference! Our nonprofit organization supports public education, ensuring every child has access to quality learning experiences. But we can't do it alone.. We need YOUR help!
